History Is About To Repeat Itself
I would say China is always very much concerned about whether we have enough friends in the world whereas the United States seems to be very much concerned whether they have enough enemies in the world. China is a force of good. China wants to promote peace, stability and development not only for itself but for mankind as a whole. For the 140 countries in the world which consider China as the largest trading partner of theirs, no one was threatened with a gun pointed at their head. Deal with China only. Only buy China products. And when you sell your commodities to the rest of the world, don't sell it to any other country. Sell only to China.
No, we engage in free trade. We engage in real freedom and liberty of trading with each other. China will really excel in excellence and China will become one of the most important and impactful country in the world as China has been for the past 5,000 years. Well, I would say for this moment in human history, mankind is faced with a choice, peace or war. And, the golden dome is, a major attempt to weaponize outer space, which is very dangerous.
Mankind already had too many wars, too many sufferings, on earth. If you want to weaponize the outer space, you do not know what will be the consequence. So I think China is doing the right thing calling for stopping the attempted weaponization of space while every country in the world has legitimate interest in protecting their own sovereignty and territorial integrity. But no one should really blow the situation out of the proportion to weaponize outer space. That's number one.
Number two is that China has never been assertive according to the definition of that word. China has always been very strong and very firm in defending its legitimate rights including sovereignty and territorial integrity. And if any country is pushing China in the attempted violation of China sovereignty and territorial integrity, China will fight back.
That's not belligerency I would say that's really the firm resolution of the Chinese nation under the leadership of the Chinese government and the ruling party. So I think we need to be very careful as to what China stands. China has been a major force for peace and stability in the world as well as for development not only for China but for all the stakeholders in the world.
Now you mentioned the Indian Pakistan conflict recently especially the aerial war involving Indian and Pakistani forces. I would say that confrontation between India and Pakistan to the best of my knowledge was started by India because we know there was a terrorist attack resulting in civilian deaths which should be condemned but no country should seize that moment and try to launch a military campaign against the other country.
I think Pakistan did the right thing calling for thorough investigation of who was really responsible for that terrorist attack and India's behavior of mobilizing and launching strikes inside the Pakistan was unprovoked I would say and India and Pakistan should have really engaged with each other in peaceful terms try to resolve that issue of peace peacefully rather than in military conflict.
But eventually when there was a confrontation um involving huge numbers of planes on the Indian side as well as on the Pakistani side and I would say the Pakistani side was reacting to the initiatives by the Indian military. the result is clear for all. I think while the Indian government has different version of the truth, the world knows that the Indians suffered huge significant losses having some of the most advanced planes being downed by the Pakistani side.
So I think we are at the moment of truth. I think war should always be the last resort and no country should be eager to resort to war. And in the Indian Pakistani confrontation, what really concerns me the most is the Indian government's decision to divert water from the Indus Hindus river because that will really cause a lot of hardship and difficulty for millions of the people in the downstream of the river. And I've been calling for India, Pakistan as well as China to sit down together to sign up some kind of a treaty or agreement between and among themselves so that no country will be allowed to divert water in such an aggressive way resulting in harm and hardship for the people in the downstream region because the Hindus River actually originates in China's Tibetan region.
If India is allowed to divert water in such a way depriving the Pakistani people in the downstream region the use of water then there should be a mechanism to stop that kind of violation because I've truly believe that to divert water in such a large amount resulting in ampitus riverbed for example for the downstream regions should be considered as a war crime in times of war or should be considered as a crime against humanity in times of peace.
So hopefully China, India and Pakistan should really sit down and come up with a more equitable agreement or arrangement so that no country will be allowed to divert water in such a massive way to deprive the livelihood and peace and stability of the people in the downstream region. Well, first of all, China and Pakistan really respect each other. We treat each other as brothers and sisters and the two countries really engage with each other on equal terms and fully cooperate with each other.
And Pakistan is one of the few countries in the world which actually jointly produce a fighter plane Shaolong plane with the Chinese side. And China has been assisting the Pakistani side without reservation providing them with what they need in terms of military hardware and software. And I think the commitment of the Chinese nation to help Pakistan to defend its legitimate interest including defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity is well carved in stone. So no country should second guess whether China will be firm and resolute in helping our brothers and sisters in Pakistan in defending its legitimate interest. That's one thing.
Now from what I understand as what happened in this aerial war between India and Pakistan early in May, I think on the one hand the Indian military uses hardware and software provided by so many different countries. It's kind of a hot patch. whereas Chinese military hardware and software are 100% self-made. So it's all domestically produced. Now that makes a big difference because if you have systems from systems, weapons, bombs for example, and hardware, software from multiple suppliers, how to integrate them into a whole system is a challenge in itself.
And then in matters of war a split second means life or death. So I think for the Indian side I hope they will really make great strides in industrialization manufacturing productions etc. So eventually they will achieve self-reliance in producing their own weapons rather than depending on so many suppliers from the French, from the Russians, from the United States, from many other sources for example that in itself is a kind of a recipe for disaster.
Whereas on the Pakistani side, I think they cooperate fully with China and we share many things and as demonstrated by this aerial warfare. I think the planes on the Indian side more or less still operate kind of in its own isolation. A plane is a plane in the traditional sense of the word. Whereas the J10 CE by the Pakistani side actually operates in a very dynamic framework. Now I've always said it's kind of merging the space, the air, the ground, the sea and the submarine. The five dimensions being merged into one. You come up with a holistic overarching framework and the plane is just a launchpad.
